Don't Miss it!

The "Don't Miss It!" strategy at Grace Point are intentional moments for us as a church family to celebrate with families at every phase of a child's life. We believe that during every phase, there are unique opportunities that we can leverage to help influence a child's future.

Baby or child dedication is the first phase you will celebrate with your child in their faith journey. Even though we call it child dedication, the celebration is really more about the commitment between the child's parents and our church family. We ask all parents who desire to dedicate their children to affirm the following commitments:

  1. Pray with your child/ren regularly and intentionally
  2. Teach them to trust and obey Jesus
  3. Model a Christ-like life in your home, in your marriage (if married) and as parents
  4. Be faithful in your church attendance and serving practices

At what age can a child be dedicated?

While Grace Point does not have a set age requirement for child dedication, it is open to infants and children up to 12 years of age.

Can a single parent participate in a child dedication service?

Yes! Child dedication signifies the commitment of parents (including single parents) to raise their child to be a follower of Christ. We highly encourage single parents to dedicate their child as they commit themselves to raise him or her without the presence or partnership of a spouse. The decision to dedicate a child is not dependent upon the beliefs of the other parent; however, we encourage single parents to discuss child dedication with them when possible. Ideally, both parents—even if not married—would still commit to the dedication of their child to God. We acknowledge that this is often not possible, and that it takes extra effort for a single parent to raise a child. As a church, Grace Point is committed to supporting single parents in providing a Christian foundation for their child’s upbringing.
